Tool | Description |
7-Zip | The 7z files support AES-256 encryption natively. Useful to cypher files that require to be stored locally, or in temporary devices with the purpose of moving them from one system to the other, or to be sent through electronic mail. |
Cryptomator | Once installed and configured, creates a “virtual drive” for each folder that is defined. In this virtual drive, everything stored is cyphered. The user continues using the files as usual, every time the virtual drive is used. |
BitLocker Filevault LUKS | Computer disk encryption. Once installed and configured, all the content in the disk units in encrypted and its content can only be accessed with the corresponding credentials. |
TestDisk | Free tool to recover files and to restore partitions. |
